MARYLAND’S YOUNGEST POLITICIAN TURNED FOUNDER OF SOMA TO SOUL. CURIOUS WHERE THE CONNECTION LIES?
We would love to share!
Living in and traveling to six continents throughout her childhood, Meagan had the opportunity to observe the diverse beauty habits practiced in many different cultures. She was in awe and this sparked a passion for beauty at a young age which evolved as she grew. Meagan recognized that a deeper healing occured by restoring inner confidence through outer enhancement procedures. She went to college in South Carolina to study Cosmetology and Business. Once she obtained her Cosmetology License she successfully started her career in the enhancement industry, working at prestigious Maryland Plastic Surgery Center & Medical Spa in addition to a high end Annapolis Day Spa.
For over 15 years, Meagan has made it a priority to utilize her skill in giving back to the community, from providing spa services to the homeless, to volunteering at domestic violence shelters, and human trafficking safe houses. Her passion to help those in need led to her decision to get involved in local politics and run for office. As the youngest elected Maryland State Delegate, Meagan sponsored and successfully passed numerous laws, including one which removed the financial barrier so that Human Trafficking Survivors could receive a college education in Maryland (an impactful resource in their healing journey), in addition to a law that provided Maryland homeless youth the opportunity to attain their GED at no cost, among many others successful bills.
While Meagan deeply appreciated the opportunity and honor of serving as a Maryland Representative, giving back through hands-on procedures remained her passion so she continued to further her career in the enhancement industry during her time in the legislature. After earning her certificate in permanent makeup from The Beau Institute, Meagan spent the next several years further honing her skills and perfecting her technique as a premier Licensed Master Paramedical & Cosmetic PMU Artist in the Washington, D.C. area, while also completing her four year term as an elected official. She then made the decision to devote her full attention to pursuing her career and announced she would not be seeking re-election.
In 2020, amidst the uncertainty of a global pandemic, employment loss due to Covid closure, and the immense responsibility of being the only parent and sole provider of her newborn son, Meagan’s resilience prevailed and she successfully opened her very own Paramedical and Cosmetic Enhancement Clinic and Training Academy, Soma to Soul. As an expert in her field, and esteemed provider and educator, Meagan continues to raise the standard and lead by example. Substantially surpassing all state requirements, Meagan’s additional licensing, certifications, and distinguished credentials provide her clients with confidence when trusting Soma to Soul with their enhancement goals. Drawing on her experience in the state legislature, Meagan has become a leader in actively lobbying for rigorous Health and Blood Safety standards within the PMU Industry, successfully resulting in the implementation of higher standards in the DMV.
Saving the best for last, Meagan is honored by the opportunity to give back to her community by providing complimentary paramedical procedures to those in need including but not limited to, Scar Revision for Domestic Violence Survivors, 3D Areola Restoration for Cancer Survivors, Scar Camouflage for Human Trafficking Survivors, Restorative Lip Procedure for Cleft Condition, and Microblading for Facial Burn Survivors. Meagan is immensely grateful to Soma to Soul clientele as their continued support of her small business makes the community impact possible.
As Mommy of an adorable, chunky & chatty 2.5 year old, most of Meagan’s free time outside of Soma to Soul is spent giving kisses to her son, Bodhi, and keeping up with his latest dinosaur obsession. When she isn’t with her baby boy you can find her giving speeches nation wide, traveling internationally, Salsa & Bachata dancing, or writing a song on her acoustic guitar.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know our Founder, Meagan Simonaire and we look forward to the opportunity to get to know you, too!
